“My one wish would be to go back in time to the Summer of Love and Woodstock...but writing and playing my songs is the next best thing.”
Singer-songwriter Lucie Tiger was born in the wrong decade but she'll just keep pretending the 70's never ended. Her one wish would be that she could go back in time so she could fit right in to the summer of love, Woodstock and Laurel Canyon in the 1970s. Her songs embrace those retro nostalgia vibes. Filled with Americana tinges of country-blues and a voice that won't quit, this is music to dance, drive and dream to.
It feels like Lucie has been playing music forever. With frequent road trips through the dusty Australian countryside with the stereo always on and always loud, it was a given that she'd be a musician. When her father brought home an acoustic guitar and taught her the basics, Lucie couldn't get enough and spent many a weekend trying to figure out her favourite songs by ear. It wasn't long before Lucie started writing her own songs with inspiration coming from everywhere as she journeyed through life, a true traveller at heart - experiencing the new, the bold and the extraordinary and crafting that into her own brand of music.
Her debut self-titled EP was released last year (on Keith Richards' birthday no less) and she'll be following it up with her first album this year. Her advice for what to do while you wait? Stay groovy.
